About Haridwar

Haridwar is a highly revered city in the state of Uttarakhand. The holy town is a major attraction for the pilgrims around the world. The city has a very rich popularity among the pilgrimage destinations. The Haridwar city is also known as the "Gateway to the Lord". The word Haridwar is combined of two words 'Hari' stands for Lord and 'dwar' stands for gate. That is why this sacred site is famous as "Gateway to the Lord". This worthy place is located on the bank of sacred river Ganga. There are many shrines, temples and ashrams to offer the prayer and for pilgrimage. This is a hustling site with crowded markets.

Haridwar is the Gateway of Chardham yatra too. People from all over the world visit the devoted site every year to perform the Chardham yatra. The Chardham yatra adds Yamunotri, Gangotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath the sacred destinations of devotion. According to the Hindu mythology it is said that the religious professionals named this holy site Haridwar. The city also very popular for the well known fair Kumbh Mela that happening once after every 12 years and Ardha Kumbh Mela after six years. Countless people take a part in this Mela. Different types of stalls and shops having religious aspects are the major attractions for the pilgrims. At a distance of 10 kilometer there is a 'Rajaji National Park" great for wild life lovers.

Technical Education Training

We at Shri Jyoti Sewa Mission are concentrated with the education, health and community development of each and every person. We work for the upliftment of the poor and destitute by helping them achieve socio-economic, independency, self-sustainability and health. We do everything from providing education in an IT field, we give them technical training to uplift their knowledge.

We provide technical training to make them financially independent while providing for a choice of lifestyles. As the course progressed we not end only with subject skills but also give them communication skills. We offer positive environment of learning infused such confidence in them for winning over the challenges in life that they found jobs in their very first placement. A separate training centre is being maintained at the our regional office, Haridwar Regular experience sharing workshops are held between staff members on the various projects related issues to develop project strategies and implementation systems. More so many training programmes are held for communities, related partners from other NGO's Government officials on livelihoods, health, engineering services watershed sanitation and capacity building programmers related issues.

Proper minutes are being maintained on the workshops and training programmes. A feedback system also exists in the institution. Proper records are kept for various reports etc. developed by the institution. Time to time we are supporting regional office of publicity department of Govt. of India for file shows of relevant films in the subject like sanitation, health, education watershed, Agriculture , veterinary, social welfare etc.

Organize Camp for Ayurveda, Yoga & Meditation

We at Shri Jyoti Sewa Mission organize ayurveda, yoga and meditation camp for everyone. Our goalis term happiness that come from healthy body, mind and spirit which lead to concentrated and a fulfilling life.

Maintain Gaushala

Gaushala is the Concept of Cow Protection and Habitat Conservation. In Sanskrit the word 'Gaushala' literally means cow protection or the place where cows are sheltered. Other Sanskrit names for the cow are Go-mata (mother cow), Kamadhenu (wish fulfilling), and Aghnya (never to be killed).

Shri Jyoti Sewa Mission maintain Gaushala (shelter home) was established by the vision of gau raksha at Haridwar by the founder Shri Prem Chand Saini. Maintaining what we have is depends mostly on hard work and proper management. Our investments have been by personal sacrifice and a help from our friends, symphathisers and cow protectors who, although unable to personally raise and protect cows, see the necessity for cow protection and are willing to lend a helping hand.

As one of India’s largest funds, we have funded hundreds of charitable organizations across India. We value our partners’ hard work and fund their efforts, which cater specifically to the needs of underprivileged people in their localities.

Shri Jyoti Sewa Mission is a voluntary organization in India working with children and adults who have developmental and other disabilities. As a resource centre for people with special needs, we provide early intervention services, livelihoods development, education, training and awareness. We believe that when we plan for the most vulnerable the world works better for everyone. Our rights-based approach challenges injustice and demonstrates how inclusion works.
